Linking Supply Chain Measures with Financial Performance: A Framework

Most of the operational metrics developed to measure supply chain performance are fragmented within and across organisations and are not linked with companies’ financial success. A major concern for supply chain professionals is to link supply chain performance to financial decisions.
This study is articulated along two dimensions. It aims to assess the alignment between finance and supply-chain functions on performance measures. Empirical evidence collected from the survey is used to create a performance model that links operational measures with income statement and balance sheet items and ultimately, with the creation of shareholder value.
