Sara Holst

I have just graduated in Political Economy and Governance (Magna cum Laude) from the University of Rome, La Sapienza.
My Master thesis was about the European Union’s Regional and Cohesion Policy, focusing particular attention to its impact at different territorial levels.

I've been studying Political Economy, especially focused on European Matters, for 5
years (our university system consists in a 3 year bachelor degree + a 2 year master
degree) and I'm very interested in what you are doing.

During my 3 years as Bachelor and 2 years as Master, I have got to know better the problems faced by the developed and developing countries, and more specifically: i) the dynamics of demographic phenomenonae (i.e. demographic transition, migration and Internal Displaced People – IDP- ) through the statistical analysis, ii) environmental issues (green production technologies, conservation and sustainable use of bio-diversity resources, etc..), iii) innovation and research, including transfer of technologies, capacity building, etc.

I am very interested in acquiring knowledge and working experience of approaches and mechanisms towards developing partnerships within countries in terms of economic policy and data research; I am also curious to understand how interventions are targeted, organized, planned and implemented etc.. and how the relationship between all the involved stakeholders - Governments, donors, NGOs, civil society, UN agencies, private sector, etc. - are developed working together to improve in a sustainable way the livelihood of the people on our planet.

    Commento personale: I’m doing a five months Internship during which I support the interim coordination secretariat for the African Network for the development of horticulture (RADHORT) and assist in the production of the communication material related to the Network for promoting regional collaboration in horticulture and exchanges among countries in Africa, creating ownership and building capacity through south-south cooperation. RADHORT, created in 2000, is a regional entity of 10 African countries (Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Chad) aiming at linking and strengthening national initiatives on horticulture to solve common problems
